Employment Specialist or Employment Supports Worker London & area

Summary:

The Employment Specialist or Employment Supports Worker assists individuals with disabilities in developing and enhancing skills to seek and retain employment; assess labour markets; outreach to employers to promote employment opportunities, outreach to job seekers and the community to build trusting relationships  and partnerships; provide support on and/or off job site to improve job retention; support employers in providing accommodations or clients’ work related issues; maintain communication with employers, clients, advocates and community; complete required and legislated documentation.

Requirements – you must have:

  • An undergraduate degree, graduate degree or Community College diploma in Business/Social Services /Human Services/Education or relevant field of study and a minimum of three years’ experience in a related Business/Social Services /Human Services/Education or relevant sector.
  • Flexibility to work hours to accommodate clients’ needs which may result in overtime.
  • Reliable transportation to provide services in London and surrounding areas.
  • Bilingual in French or other languages would be an asset
  • A current satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check and First Aid / CPR and CPI certification; or be willing to obtain certification.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must be able to provide proof of two doses COVID-19 vaccination or documentation for medical exemption or reason related to protected grounds under the Human Rights Code as per Provincial Health Care regulations

Job Description

Summary

As a full time Administrative Associate, you will be responsible for supporting administrative and IT tasks for the organization. The incumbent will be responsible for a variety of receptionist/administrative/IT duties including answering telephones, completing various office work, data entry, setting up computer workstations, etc. Exceptional customer service and prompt, responsive action to support the organization’s services are all essential duties for this position.

Job Duties – we require you to:

  • Provide customer support to visitors of the organization.
  • Answer telephones, directing calls to the appropriate individual, taking messages, or answering basic inquiries about the organization.
  • Complete data entry for reports, program updates, etc.
  • Prepare minutes and reports as needed.
  • Ensure that all legislated acts guidelines are being followed and adhere to the overall mission and values of the organization.
  • Conduct various clerical and office work such as faxing, mailing, filing, photocopying, etc.
  • Assist with a set-up, configuration, maintenance, updates, troubleshooting and fixing of workstations and laptops (OS Windows 10, MS Office Suites); including troubleshooting visits as needed
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and fix peripherals such as printers, scanners, switches, hubs, digital cameras, projectors and caballing with a guidance of IT person
  • Create, maintain and update electronic databases.
  • Maintain the day to day reception area.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings and take meeting minutes as required.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements – you must have:

  • Post-secondary diploma in the related fields.
  • Proficient in Advanced Microsoft Office Suite and typing of at least 50wpm
  • Understanding of LAN and WAN network
  • Understanding of Windows Servers 2008 and 2012 network
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including conflict resolution and people management skills.
  • Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality.
  • First Aid and CPR and CPI certified or will consider being certified within 3 months of probation period.
  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with clients, family members, and the general public.
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
  • Demonstrated excellence in organization and time management skills.
  • A current satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal screening is required.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to outreach offices as required.
  • Must be able to provide proof of two doses COVID-19 vaccination or documentation for medical exemption or reason related to protected grounds under the Human Rights Code as per Provincial Health Care regulations
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
